VISION

We envision a world transformed by unconditional love.

MISSION

Our mission is to embrace one heart at a time and share pathways to an awakened life as inspired by Ma Jaya.

TRADITION AND LINEAGE

Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati is an American-born Guru and spiritual teacher. In 1976 Ma founded Kashi Ashram, teaching in the tradition of her Guru, Neem Karoli Baba. Their core teachings are to be kind, compassionate and serve another. In Baba’s words, “To Love Everyone, Serve Everyone, and Feed Everyone”.

Kashi Ashram is about living life from an open heart. All are welcome regardless of race, gender expression, sexual orientation, color, or religion.

Ma Jaya took MahaSamadhi (left her physical body) in 2012. Ma Jaya’s teachings continue through her swami’s, monks and chelas (students).

PLACE

The Ashram is named after the sacred city of Varanasi in India. Another name for Varanasi is Kashi. Kashi means city of light. In Kashi Ashram’s center is a body of water called the Ganga which has temples and shrines devoted to Hindu, Christian, Jewish, Sikh and Buddhist faiths.

We believe all paths, followed with a sincere heart, lead to one’s own God within. Kashi honors the divine feminine and the sacred land holds a palpable essence. All are welcome to refresh body, mind, and spirit.

ORGANIZATION

Kashi Ashram is a spiritual community where people come to learn and practice. Visitors and members include people seeking to experience and embody mindfulness, and inner growth. Kashi Ashram is a charitable organization led by a Swami governing body, board of directors, and administrative team.
